I think this article is overall crap and oversimplifies a complicated problem. I also don’t think it’s much more than a biased opinion piece. From what I know about working in anaesthesia and to lesser extent with chronic pain patients - opioids over an extended period actually make chronic pain much worse. I would not be pushing for chronic pain people to have access to more opioids unless I just wanted to worsen their suffering.
