2024 could be the year the PC dumps x86 for Arm
- snvzz 3y agoNot happening. RISC-V exists. ARM is as much of a dead end as x86 is.
- blinded 3y agoI own some ARM stock so that would be cool. But licensing increases by softbank could accelerate RISC-V. That is my hope anyway.
- Flux159 3y agoHopefully Windows 12's emulation of x86-64 apps is better than the support in the Windows 11 on ARM releases - if that's the case I could definitely see the next few years being a shift for Windows laptops from x86 to ARM with Nvidia also trying to make their own ARM chips. I don't think it'll be as seamless as Apple's switch to Apple Silicon with Rosetta though.
