Steam drops macOS Mojave support, effectively ending life for many 32-bit games

- sylware 3y agoAnd only windows 10 & 11 starting from 01/01/2024. Why? win64 has been stable for more than a decade... I am on elf/linux, I wonder if at the same time they will finally drop their 32bits code and those horrible bash only scripts (with gnu only commands). Are we going to get some real simplification and cleanup too? It seems x11->wayland and vulkan->gl->cpu fallbacks are not even there yet (google blink, which valve uses, does not seem to have those fallbacks). As soon as 32bits code is gone and wayland is really here, I should start to code my own wayland compositor. Based on valve's one, full dma-buf/vulkan3D, and certainly not c++/rust/java/(insert your language with a brain f* ultra complex syntax here), but simple and plain c89/c99 and/or assembly. I wonder if I should not use that excuse to start writting a wayland compositor but in javascript, BUT with a full assembly written interpreter (with the right OS abstraction), or quickjs. Mmmmmh... question question...
