  More accurately: ONE of the companies building on the hyperloop paper is going out of business. Right in the article they mention another company that’s got 4 prototypes. The hyperloop idea was Musk’s, but as far as I know, none of these companies are more “blessed” than the other. His paper was made “free” to the world.

    Well, it wasn’t even really his idea; vactrains as a concept have been knocking around since 1904, and there have been previous unrealistic attempts of this sort, largely in the 1970s.
