hash/maphash isn't a very good replacement if you're trying to hash simple structs, since they still require conversion to byte slice by some means.

  Hash functions all work on bytes sequence or string, hashing a struct/class/object is a different use case.

  You use unsafe for that bit. Still less gross than DoltHub's take on it.
