Ask HN: What charities are you giving to this year?
- DLA 3y agoTunnel to Towers T2T.org Harvest.org WorldWildlife.org
- action-k 3y agoThank you - will check them out.
- BaudouinVH 3y agokiva.org (in fact not giving but loaning)
- action-k 3y ago[dead]
- tmorton 3y agoEvidence Action - https://www.evidenceaction.org/ https://www.evidenceaction.org/ This is the "safe bet" in my giving. They do a good job at improving lives, in the most effective way possible. Center for Election Science - https://electionscience.org/ https://electionscience.org/ This is the "long shot" in my giving. Officeholders today are incentivized to carve out a slice of supporters, play to only that audience, and demonize everyone else. Approval voting is the best solution that I've seen. It's worked well in a few cities, but mainstream acceptance is a ways off.
- action-k 3y agoThanks for this. Do you have any thoughts on Evidence Action vs GiveWell? Looks like GiveWell supports on of EA's charities (Deworm the World), but broadly each org is looking to do similar things.
