I recently implemented pure-todo[1] just for myself, because I did not like any of all of the Todo list apps out there...
I chose to not use any boilerplate, frameworks or libraries as long as I can get along. Did not respect any ES6 whatever limitations of browsers and used whatever I wanted to use. Just pure PHP, sqlite, vanilla JS and CSS like in the old days with ES6 flavour here and there :-) What sounded really stupid because I ignored all the fancy frameworks made me learn a lot of things and it also turned out that it just works on my systems (Android, iOS, Linux, Window with Firefox, Safari and Chrome). Maintenance will be a nightmare though...
Caution: Use it at your own risk because there will pretty likely breaking changes in the near future :-)
