jQuery 4.0.0 is finished, pending official release
- Takennickname 3y agoMay the lord bless us with a year of Javascript framework deaths and mergers so I don't need a second brain just to keep track of them all. As python is with Django, and rails is with ruby, and Node is with JS, may the frontend eco system standardize on a framework (svelte or Vue plz) and work together to push DX forward instead of sideways for another year.
- stephenr 3y agoNeither node (a runtime) nor Js (a language) is a "framework", and I'd imagine there's a significant amount of overlap between the JavaScript developers constantly reinventing the wheel for client-side code, the those working on backend JS code, which suggests it's unlikely that community would "standardise" on one thing.
- Takennickname 3y agoDon't imagine, provide evidence.
- lukeholder 3y agoLove seeing so much of jQuery deprecated and removed due to it becoming available in JavaScript core. Well done jQuery! Having said that HTMX is now my main tool now for front end.
