Maybe it's standard, but to someone who's not familiar with 3d modeling tools, the idea of being able to control one with a game controller is brilliant. That makes it seem much less intimidating
- boppo1 3y agoAs someone who knows quite a bit about 3d modeling, using a game controller sounds hellish for getting anything done.
- turndown 3y agoHave you heard of people using Nintendo switch controllers in modeling programs like this?
- boppo1 3y agoNo.
- JayStavis 3y agoDo you have thoughts on Dreams by Media Molecule? I haven't tried it, but, people seem to be pretty productive with it much in the way they would be with a DCC.
- boppo1 3y agoIt looks neat for a teenager, I'm definitely impressed at the "all-in-one" idea that it has DCC DAW and game engine together. But the sculpting is clearly pretty rudimentary. One video I saw, a guy had sculpted Kermit and it looked great; but he complained that it took a massive amount of time. In Blender, it would be an afternoon project. Once you understand what's happening under the hood and you know your hotkeys, you can really fly around and do stuff fast.
