I highly recommend anyone interested in Meta's vision and work to watch these. Zuckerberg's demos and the AI leadership team discussions are SO INCREDIBLY CONSISTENT over the years. They are clearly executing on something very big, with quite a bit of alignment across researchers, engineers, and product managers.
That webinar really changed my perspective on Meta's vision for AI and AR (or MR, I guess). The article posted here also emphasizes this consistency.
Huge respect for anyone who can pull this off.

Clearly? Why should we not rather assume it is some death march led by Zuckerberg and any non team-players are left in the ditch along the way?
- edmundsauto 3y agoWhere is the evidence for the alternate assumption? There does appear to be quite a bit of alignment as GP said.
- screye 3y agoMeta's bipolar switch from social media into VR then out of VR and into AI is anything but consistent. The bits and pieces might have been in place for years, but their prioritization and leadership thrust is clearly all over the place.
- gloryjulio 3y agoThat's correct. But given their company size, they do have sizable investment in every sector in parallel as you mentioned.
