It's a real concern for fire departments that don't have readily available equipment to deal with massive battery fires. Even though it's rare it's still worthy of criticism. EVs are way heavier than ICE vehicles with a similar form factor, more energy involved in collisions. They also go through tires and wear down the road surface faster.
