Does it make you feel intelligent to reduce a complex organism to whats on a flag?
- JumpCrisscross 3y agoVersus ignoring it, and all other evidence, to push an anti-American narrative?
- csomar 3y agoYou've got to give them credit for their flag, though. Talk about adhering to the KISS principle :)
- j4yav 3y agoI don't know why we wouldn't listen to them if they tell us exactly what they want in no uncertain terms. I guess you don't have an answer then.. is it because you don't find any of their demands palatable, or because you don't want to admit you at least partially agree with them?
- taeric 3y agoThis is literally what they put on their own flag, though? Not like it is an ancient flag, either; so you can't "contextualize" it in a way that does it any favors. I'm curious what makes you want to ignore it?
- JumpCrisscross 3y ago> curious what makes you want to ignore it? Commenter you’re responding to was arguing we should have left the Nazis alone in another thread [1]. Some combination of kneejerk anti-American sentiment, a belief that every problem can be solved over a dining table and/or trolling. - j4yav 3y agoOh, yikes
- taeric 3y agoI'm finding too many of these threads read as a train wreck in assuming amazing morals from anything not US. In ways that are baffling, as most of the criticism that is aired of US behavior in the US would flat not be tolerated in most other countries that people seem to be promoting. Worse still, the charity given to literal terrorists in their messaging is flat out offensive.
