Avoid the Apple App Store
- e28eta 3y agoI don’t think it’s correct to extrapolate from “copycat rule is applied unfairly” to “don’t make apps at all”. I think there _is_ an interesting tension though. Original developers should receive protection against copycat apps. Users who hear about a compelling app should be able to find it, instead of a poorly done clone. Should other developers be able to riff on the original? A word game in a different language that’s not being served by the original sounds to me like it should be allowed, but I haven’t thought about it before this morning. Is this an instance of “reviewer roulette” letting some copycats through? Or is there a hidden test that this app fails while others are passing? Is that test insufficient?
