Shame headline doesn't match the opening sentence .. "The government failed to properly investigate unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) in the Nineties over fears they were caused by ‘demonic forces’, the UK’s leading expert has claimed."
- bookofjoe 3y ago>The government failed to properly investigate unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) in the Nineties over fears they were caused by ‘demonic forces’, the UK’s leading expert has claimed. I tried to use the opening sentence as my submission title but it was "106 [characters] too long." Then I spent 15 minutes trying to compress that sentence down from 186 to HN's 80-character limit, without success. What would YOU have titled this submission?
- warrenm 3y agoI know HN's policy on submissions is to match the link's headline - so I would have titled it the same here ... it's MSN that had the broken headline :)
- I_Am_Nous 3y agoI feel like your title is fine, though if "fear of" would fit it might be relevant, such as: Fear of 'Demonic forces' stopped official investigations into UFOs in the UK Since that recasts it a little bit as "officials didn't want to investigate as they thought the UFOs were demonic" rather than "officials didn't investigate because demonic forces prevented them from doing so".
- bookofjoe 3y agoAh, the penny dropped: I see your point now. Thanks!
