Usually it’s fundamentalists and extremists who insist on that, and as a mainstream Sunni Muslim, I’ve not heard convincing evidence that Jewish, Christian, or Muslim texts support that position. Isn’t the life and/or welfare of the mother also important? And who would you want making such a specific determination, a healthcare professional or Ron DeSantis?
