What is the prevalence of such incidents in the overall corpus of academic literature? I suspect it’s pretty high. For all we know, Gay’s work is below what is standardly accepted.
- atticora 3y agoLLMs will be a big change here for the past and future. They make past plagiarism cheap to discover. They make future plagiarism cheap to hide, simply by re-generating the same thought after embedding. So more accountability going backwards, and less going forward.
