  You are thinking of wrong problem. It is not about use of AI in new patent. But if the AI can be the author. Later of which would mean that AI would have some type of personhood like companies have... And currently courts consider that it should not as of now.

    You're right. I misunderstood. I think I misunderstood it because the idea of marking an AI as a "patent inventor" seems quite silly to me and so I had some cognitive dissonance that this could possibly be what the issue was about.

  i think the idea of patent is to share knowledge needed to reproduce the invention. pitty that this is mostly unenforced.

    A significant portion of inventors, especially the employed kind, will quite intentionally not read up on patents in order to avoid the risk of triple damages. Patents serve to inform the lawyers more than the inventors, at least in the US in modern day and I suspect elsewhere too.
