Five Apache projects you probably didn't know about
- Dalewyn 3y ago[flagged]
- adr1an 3y agoI still don't know what they're about :$ clicking in 1... 2... 3.
- PlutoIsAPlanet 3y agoAnother under the radar Apache project I've found myself using is Apache KvRocks https://github.com/apache/kvrocks https://github.com/apache/kvrocks It's a Redis compatible database on top of RocksDB, so unlike Redis it uses the disk instead of RAM, but you can control how much data is cached in RAM, obviously Kvrocks will be slower than Redis for uncached data. Useful in situations where you want a KV data store that isn't limited by your memory specs but is compatible with everything that speaks Redis.
- rch 3y agoI've used this one too. It works well.
- karmakaze 3y agoCool. This post is right beside the 37signals one[1] that mentions SolidCache[0] "A database-backed ActiveSupport::Cache::Store". I discovered two solutions in one day. [0] https://github.com/rails/solid_cache https://github.com/rails/solid_cache [1] https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=38710927 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=38710927
- PlutoIsAPlanet 3y agoThe advantage with kvrocks is that it supports the Redis protocol, so you can use all the drivers, tools, cluster tools for Redis.
- rch 3y agoI'm using Apache Ratis (and Nifi) for a side project. It's a nice Raft implementation that's actively used and maintained: https://ratis.apache.org/ https://ratis.apache.org/
- didip 3y agoDoris’s fork: Starrocks is better.
- mediumsmart 3y agoFound typo * focusing on microservices, Cloud Native apps, and Kuernetes architectures.*
