  It's the same flawed logic used to justify that sanctions on the people of a country would cause a regime change from within but that rarely works. It would only work if there would be another alternative for those users to go to. Currently there hasn't been a popular move from reddit to somewhere else. So no, you're just annoying users but without harming reddit.
