I would like also to add what happened after git. Since git isn't the last word in the version control area, it would be useful to put git into perspective.

I would like also to add what happened after git. Since git isn't the last word in the version control area, it would be useful to put git into perspective.
- fbdab103 3y agoI truly hope so, but there is so much momentum that it is going to be tough to topple. Any competitor which does not offer a git compatibility interface is dead on arrival. I dislike git for many reasons, but to get people to change is going to take a big "thing" that git cannot do. Incremental improvements are not going to justify the switching cost.
