- verdverm 3y agoI've wondered why Amendment 14.3 doesn't explicitly list the "President", what it does say is "or hold any office, civil or military" https://constitutioncenter.org/the-constitution/amendments/amendment-xiv#amendment-section-3 https://constitutioncenter.org/the-constitution/amendments/a... As a citizen, with the presidency often being called "The highest office in the land", I cannot see how the Office of the President could be seen as excluded from this law. I think the authors of the amendment had every intention that it should apply to the president, I am not a constitutional lawyer (IANACL) This appears to be a recording from the appeal proceedings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cz4ZqwrsipA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cz4ZqwrsipA
- salawat 3y agoAs Commander-in-Chief, the Presidency is technically a military position.

- bloopernova 3y agoAs much as I want that man to be barred from public office, I'm not celebrating. The federal supreme court will rule in his favour.
- voisin 3y agoDoes the federal Supreme Court have purview over a state’s primary ballot?
