Interesting because we moved our family from Miami to the Chicago suburbs for the same reason.
- misiti3780 3y agoWhy didnt you think Miami was a good place to raise children ? And how is Chicago better?
- gordian_NOT 3y agoIn general people in Miami are less friendly, cliquish and unreliable compared to other parts of the country. Even other parts of Florida. They’ll show up an hour late and act like they’re doing you a favor by showing up. The drivers are erratic and irresponsible. Everything is a scam or hustle of some kind. The cultural institutions like museums and libraries are extremely poor even compared to mid-tier northeast or midwest cities. And finally, the public schools are mostly awful and even the universities are a tier below cities of similar size.
- misiti3780 3y agoI agree w/ all of this, but the public schools in Chicago pretty much suck too.
- gordian_NOT 3y agoYeah CPS is bad but the suburbs around Chicago have some of the best school districts in the country.
