Can you elaborate: why are the rings not visible on that image? Is it because they are outside the frame, or too faint, or don't appear in the visible spectrum?

The rings are extremely dark, reflecting only 2% of incoming light. The James Webb image is an infrared photo, and doesn't show what the planet looks like.

  It's also why you can see galaxies in the background!
