esrun – run TypeScript files with no prior setup
- nailer 3y agoI'm not the author but esrun (which was called https://www.npmjs.com/package/@digitak/esrun https://www.npmjs.com/package/@digitak/esrun a few day ago and still has 10K downloads a week) lets you run TS files with: - no tsconfig - no package.json changes - no .mts filename requirement - no IIFEs or other hacks to get top level 'await' working - no stupid error messages like `$ npx ts-node somefile.ts TypeError [ERR_UNKNOWN_FILE_EXTENSION]: Unknown file extension ".ts"` And for that reason esrun is way better than tsx, tsrun, ts-node, etc.
