I guess this is a positive development, relatively speaking. But it's important to understand that this does not mean that Catholic priests are now permitted to marry same-sex couples. They can merely "bless" the relationship in some general, non-sacramental way, and are not supposed to do so in any wedding-like ceremony.
- mcphage 3y agoThe Catholic Church is a large ship, and it takes a long time to change directions. This is a big step in the right direction. It’s not the end, but it’s progress towards good.
