I read through this entire post because I had some time. Obviously, it was a waste of time, and while I'd normally find it at least mildly comforting that the author of something bad spent more time writing it than I did reading it, I'm not convinced that's true because I think a significant amount of this was written with ChatGPT. This is someone who's not a biologist (but can use GPT-4 to help him understand genetics and neuroscience well enough, he assures us, so no need to worry), and has a start-up idea that he thinks has a trillion+ dollar total addressable market, so he's asking for a mere $800k to get started. What's the incredibly valuable idea that's been overlooked by everyone? Getting access to genetic databases to try and associate various genes with intelligence, then editing roughly 20,000 intelligence genes in an adult human brain with gene therapy, in order to give said adult human 200-800 IQ (don't worry, he's not crazy; he thinks the 800 IQ figure is unlikely to be achievable in practice, even if his theory says it should work). He thinks this will help us solve AI safety concerns because we can inject the alignment researchers with the magic smart serum so they'll work better (presumably the super serum can be loaded into tranquiliser darts in order to get it into enough of said researchers before he is tackled by security at OpenAI).
Putting aside that the ideological goal here is to make racism real, even if I agreed with the whole Nazi part of it, this is an absolutely ludicrous plan. Like, in feasibility. He's concerned about the close-mindedness of people who compare this work to Hitler's Nazism merely because he wants to create a race of Übermensch, but he should be more concerned about the fact that there are incredibly obvious stumbling blocks in his plan like "the therapies you're talking about literally injecting into the human brain with a needle kill nearly a third of human cells they're exposed to in-vitro" or "every government on the planet will sign an international treaty specifically to ban this and put you through Nuremberg 2.0 if you actually do this to adult human beings".
Writing this comment was 200-800 times more enjoyable than reading this guy's blog post, but it does not at all make up for just how bad it is. Eugh.
