Sorry I keep thinking of great things about it: fire blocking and resistance. You don't have to fireblock around it with intumescent caulk or foam on firewall penetrations (and everyone on HN likes things that can traverse a firewall without needing special protections for when they fail when the heat is on, right?!) It also does not produce toxic smoke if there's a fire.
