Clunky 'AI'-Voiced Drive-Thrus Are Already Here and Getting Orders Wrong
- cchance 3y agoThis has 0 to do with AI issues, and more to do with companies rushing things and likely buying the shittiest versions of things to save money, honestly im still laughing that people order at the window and fight to get the order across i havent ordered non-app based for drive through in years, they should just have a tablet pop out to the car when you drive up.

A lot will come down to how well it's implemented, though. > Wendy's touts getting customers through 22 seconds quicker, but also an accuracy rate of only 86 percent. That means one in seven orders taken are wrong, and have to be corrected by an employee. A human would be fired for making so many mistakes. Without a baseline to compare to this doesn't mean much; drive-thru orders have always had frequent mistakes. From what I can find, human-level accuracy is around 85%[0], and Hi Auto claim their bot achieves 94% accuracy[1]. But, these are from different sources so methodology and what exactly is measured will differ.
