In theory, this is so much more useful than all the other carbon capture devices being developed, which (except in some very narrow circumstances) are simply converting coal/gas to a near useless inert carbon byproduct. Right now there is orphaned energy production all over the place, which is where you'd want to attach carbon capture devices. With this method, people would be greatly incenvised to cature CO2 wherever possible. It may not even need goverment subsidy. The smaller they can design these formate production cells, the greater percentage of that orphaned or wasted energy can be recovered.
