Tell HN: Just noticed Reddit blocking VPN traffic. Old subdomain still works
- thih9 3y agoWhen I go to a reddit url from a nordvpn address, I get an annoying "oopsie" static page ("whoa there, pardner!"), it informs about a network policy error, asks to log in or use developer credentials. Using the same address with the old.reddit subdomain still works as of now. I haven't seen that before and thought it's interesting.
- night-rider 3y ago> Using the same address with the old.reddit subdomain still works as of now And I exclusively use old Reddit because their new interface is annoying and bloated as shit. I looked at the source code and they include a hardcoded Tailwind library on every page instead of linking to an external, cacheable resource.
- gbrindisi 3y agoI had problem with feeds these last days, turns out it’s cloudflare something something. Using old reddit worked.
- meepmorp 3y agoyet another reason to continue no longer using reddit.
