Musical instruments are extremely simple. That’s the root of their power.
Violins have a few strings that you interface with a bow.
A piano is basically a slider split into finger sized segments.
- Pine_Mushroom 3y agoI'd urge you to reconsider the complexity of an acoustic piano: https://livingpianos.com/how-many-parts-are-there-in-a-piano/ https://livingpianos.com/how-many-parts-are-there-in-a-piano... Violins are quite simple though, also drums, brass.
- flappyeagle 3y agoThe interface is simple not the implementation — that’s what we are talking about here. Going by your logic brass instruments are insanely complicated. You have to invent metallurgy.
- sweetgiorni 3y agoI'm not diagreein with you, but one should bear in mind that a piano essentially contains 88 copies of the same mechanism (with some exceptions). That brings you from 12,000 parts to 136 parts, which is much simpler to grasp. Of course, having 88 copies creates its own challenges.
