"Experts are still wondering how the Romans calculated with their number system. No document is known that describes its handling."
That's crazy considering how ubiquitous the Romans were.
- wolfi1 3y agoin some History of Mathematics book I read (can't remember which) it is said that the Greek (and therefore most likely the Romans) had school books on arithmetic but these were not preserved as they were not considered to be worth it.
