I just noticed yesterday the MBTA buses in Boston use mixed case on a dot-matrix display without space for descenders. Some letters are simply raised slightly (like "y"), others are replaced with small-caps versions (like "q").
- 3cats-in-a-coat 3y agoYup, some use raised letters to avoid descender. Had a Casio, I think, organizer like that, and it always bugged me. Looks weird.
