Ask HN: What is the best way to host an Express app monorepo
- verdverm 3y agothe code or the running application? the answer to both is probably "there is no best", pick what works for you and gets out of the way. If you don't have something, pick something mainstream for the learning, community, and ecosystem
- nathan_tarbert 3y agoThe code is in GitHub and I need to host the running application.
- verdverm 3y agoThe main JS build tools have hosting options, there are tons of lightweight hosting providers, or you can go with a more general cloud provider. I'm partial to the Google Cloud, but pretty much anything is going to be fine, especially if it is a demo/mvp size project. There is a lot of detail and nuance I'm glossing over, but to fill that in would require detailed knowledge of you application and ambitions for it
- kidgorgeous 3y agovercel.com. They have a free tier that links to your github repo and hosts your web app at "custom-subdomain.vercel.app".
- nathan_tarbert 3y agoI have other apps hosted on Vercel but they are Next.js apps which isn't a problem because Vercel is serverless. For this monorepo I need 2 servers running.
