Google may not be gone, because it is trying hard to have their own AI, and eat it too. Google originally had a better page-ranking algorithm than other search-engines of the time. But currently all the big players have and are developing basically the same kind of large-language models. I can see that Google's dominance is over because others can easily do as good or better with AI, it will not disappear like Alta Vista.
