    What's absurd is that any sort of non-local/online account is required at all to use a hardware device you own. Half the reason VR's adoption and progress is so slow is Facebook buying Oculus which poisoned the well for the vast majority of the hardcore gaming / high spec userbase, who typically popularizes and drives innovation in the hardware space.
