20 miles is pretty far away. What were you expecting?
The factory one is clearly due to negligence.
But, the parent comment alluded to something about "living in an area prone to tornadoes," which would include areas you described.
So, any storm during tornado season would be enough to take precautions or at least be on alert. No?
- pixl97 3y ago20 miles is far away, unless it's moving toward you. Ground speed on a supercell can be scary at times.
- dylan604 3y agoExactly. These storms move at 20-40mph, so at 20 miles you're only 30-60 minutes from the storm coming to you. It does sound like the GP just doesn't have a lot of experience with these storms to even make a claim that 20 miles is far to be laughable.
- 20after4 3y agoSome (rare) tornadoes have been clocked at >90mph. I can remember multiple storms recently (past year or two) that were moving at ~60mph.
- h2odragon 3y agoRead that description again. The path was 600ft wide at the worst parts. Much of the "line" on the map was unaffected; people whom that storm passed over could have missed it.
