Threads is officially starting to test ActivityPub integration
- ksenzee 3y agoI’m not a huge Threads user (I’m more of a Hachyderm type myself) but it really would make a great addition to the fediverse. I didn’t expect it to ever really happen, of course, so this is very encouraging news.
- GavinAnderegg 3y agoI really hope this goes through. I don't really use Threads, but some people I follow have found a home there. It would be great to be able to follow their posts in the same 3rd party client (Mona) I use to read Mastodon. I'm curious how this will look if/when Meta starts to monetize Threads, though. Will they try injecting ads between posts in ActivityPub feeds? Will they be OK if third-party clients strip ads out? Will I have to view the post on Threads if I want to read the whole thing?
