The Year Twitter Died
- infotainment 3y agoI'm wondering if the endgame here is that "X" declares bankruptcy and is immediately scooped up by a private equity firm that renames it back to Twitter and undoes all Elon's bizarre changes.
- Zigurd 3y agoI think elon's decision to go harder and tell the rest of the advertisers to gfy is in part a strategy to scare everyone else off. If there was a chance they could go back to normalcy, the lbo lenders might push him into bankruptcy, or use some technical violation of a loan covenant to push him out. It's like a comically bad hostage situation: back off for the bird sleeps with the fishes.
- sillywalk 3y agoShoot the hostage.
- leetgirl83 3y agoTwitter will pivot to payments and be far more profitable than it ever was. Think Paypal and Stripe. Combine that with the everything app - jobs, dating, learning, e-commerce, data training for AI, AGI development, news subscriptions, Optimus integration Seems really dumb to declare X will die
- 3cats-in-a-coat 3y agoImplementing payments doesn’t mean people will use them at scale. It’s very easy to close your eyes and imagine your service being extremely extremely extremely popular taking over the entire world. Every ten year old does that
- iamdelirium 3y agoYou know what app already does all of this and better? Facebook and people hate it. Twitter is not going to do better everything app then Facebook.
