I like the WarHammer 40K take on technology - mankind has fallen due to wars and is now reborn but they don't understand how technology works - there is a ban on any form of AI (due to said downfall).
So a cult has evolved to maintain or control all technology so they perform religious rites like priests and chant to get things working.
To the effect off "oh great Omnisiah - turn the reactor yield to 30 but not greater than 30 and wait for 10 time intervals until the holy light of the reactor is green.
Amen ....."

- optimalsolver 3y agoThere’s inspiration, and there’s simply nabbing an idea wholesale. Especially galling when there’s no credit given to the original. It’s not “40K’s take” at all.
