The balance is what is needed in Social Media, but the balance cannot be provided as there are various influences, wealthy individuals, organizations, foreign governments, domestic governments that try to shift the balance. We will never have "truth" in media. It is always controlled by people in position of power. Platforms will always choose to moderate contents themselves, rather than to provide social tools for the users to indicate where the truth lies. Therefore companies will remove thumbs down. It is up for their algorithms to decide what you see, and what is not seen. They will always prefer to host Oversight boards rather than produce social platforms tools for the users to moderate contents.
