- ggm 3y agoIf he wasn't private, this would be terminal. Since he is private, it's between him and his debt funders. I believe this is classic "owe the bank $1000 you have a problem, owe the bank $1,000,000,000 they have a problem" territory. MBA colleges worldwide will be teaching him as a 'not like that' role model for decades. He's the therac-25 of how to CEO.
- aerostable_slug 3y agoKeyword: private You're right, I did lose a million dollars last year. I expect to lose a million dollars this year. I expect to lose a million dollars next year. You know, Mr. Thatcher, at the rate of a million dollars a year, I'll have to close this place in... sixty years. — "Citizen Kane" (1941)
- more_corn 3y agoI don’t think he has sixty years. Doesn’t it cost a billion dollars a year to service the debt? I wouldn’t be surprised if X loses a billion dollars the first year and significantly more the next. Who knew that degrading trust in a platform, welcoming hate speech and acting like an all-around asshat would alienate advertisers. It’s not like those people are brand conscious or anything.
