Why would that be the logical conclusion ? Not everyone listens to pop music for example that doesn't mean we are out of touch, not seeing pop shows just means we have different tastes than the most common denominator. There are a large variety of tastes and streaming companies cater to the segments which make enough financial returns, not just only pop culture, as long as enough people are there in the segments we like - it shouldn't matter what pop culture is doing.
