I have looked through Prince's book (the free PDF) and think it is reasonably modern and pretty good. I'll probably pick up a copy at some point. I have the new d2l book. At ~25 USD it is hard not to recommend it... the paperback print (color!) quality is good. I prefer reading print books so, for me, it is a good companion to the website, which is awesome.
