Michael Easter "The Comfort Crisis"
Michael Easter "Scarcity Brain"
Annie Duke "Thinking In Bets"
Annie Duke "Quit"
All were readable and yet informative and intriguing.
Rick Ruben's "The Creative Act" was also good, tho I felt it should have been more heavily edited (read: it was too long). That flaw makes me hesitant to recommend it.
- Wonnk13 3y agoI agree somewhat that there are repetitive themes in the Creative Act, but I still found it incredible. I approached it as a series of Zen Koans. You can just pick up the book and start almost anywhere. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
- chiefalchemist 3y agoI don't disagree per se. But if you've read "The War of Art" then you realize Rubin's editor(s) did him, did all of us, a disservice. Yes, it doesn't have to be read cover to cover. But some chapters could have been removed and "the work" would have gotten stronger. Ironic since that's a practice he champions. I'd recommend "The War of Art" over "Creative Act".
