I'm not experiencing that. Granted, I have 16 GB of RAM, and browsers are memory hogs, but my CPU is a Core i5-7600K with no overclocking, so not something super-strong. Are you sure your experience is common rather than anecdotal?

Mine is on MacOS.

  I use Devuan GNU/Linux, with Cinnamon as the desktop environment. Maybe there's some MacOS (or *BSD) specific issue?
