Careful with percentages, sometimes it's base do total mass ratio whereas sometimes it's on oil mass only. There have been high potency strains (>20% THC by dry mass) since the 1960s, it's just that they're much easier to produce reliably now thanks to tech advancements. I don't think it's a concern for mushrooms though, because people aren't looking for the strongest trip necessarily.
