Is it your understanding that America turned the other cheek after Pearl Harbor?
- underlipton 3y agoWe (despite our best efforts) did not create a situation where Japan felt it necessary to enter into a multi-generational blood feud. Something about ending the occupation and providing economic support. Admittedly, some of this could credibly be attributed to some aspect of Japanese culture and its approach to defeat. On the other hand, we made a point not to bomb Kyoto because of its status as an important historical and cultural treasure.
