Ralph Nader-Founded Car Safety Group Trashes Cybertruck
- aaron695 3y ago> "no one will ever doubt your manhood again. We get it. You were picked last in gym" > While the post didn’t specify why the truck could pose a particular hazard I wonder why people think the organization is trash? It says a lot about HN users who think it's ok to talk about people like this. You think they are on your side? You're the pathetic nerd they are referencing, do you think by agreeing with them they will be your friend?
- FirmwareBurner 3y agoWhy? It's only dangerous for pedestrians, cyclists and other cars in trafic. Just stay out of its way and you'll be safe d'uh! /s Still, I can't really blame Tesla too much here. After all, they only complied to existing safety laws so I see it as a failure of the state to regulate safe cars for everyone on the street, otherwise manufacturers will only comply to the bare minimum.
- xmodem 3y agoI dunno man, personally I try to avoid living my life by walking right up to the edge of what's legal, and I don't admire or respect that trait in others either.
- sonicanatidae 3y agoThat's exactly how a majority of corporations conduct business and why CU is such a horrific decision.
- FirmwareBurner 3y agoCU?
- dehugger 3y agoCitizens United, I think.
- sonicanatidae 3y agoSorry. Citizen's United. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizens_United_v._FEC https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizens_United_v._FEC Its the ruling that would predictably lead to outright bribery of Congress, but SCOTUS thought it would violate the rights of money?!?!, so they allowed literal bribery of congress.
- ydlr 3y agoThe purpose of the the Center for Auto Safety is to influence public policy. That is exactly why they release reports like this. Everyone knows you can't shame the shameless.
