Telling young people to work-life balance is actively harmful
- thfuran 3y agoWell, it's not illegal to be wrong.
- webaholic 3y agoThe reasons mentioned are exactly the reasons to have work-life balance. You have time, you have energy, you have less responsibilities. You should travel, explore various hobbies, and experience new things. By the time you are in your 30s, you will have too many responsibilities to do anything else.
- b0o 3y agoWhile yes, grinding is good in moderation in their 20s, it also ends up creating harmful "grinding" habits later on in life, especially at corporate jobs where your future and promotions aren't based off of the "actual" grind. That said, it doesn't mean they shouldn't be "grinding" in other aspects of their lives such as learning and honing their skills to grind that 2-year promotion by jumping around companies. I'm an avid believer of only putting 50% in my day to day, and to only put in 100% when SHTF and have consistently proved my worth.
- kbrannigan 3y agoExactly We are human beings not productivity machines. Props to those who can work 100 hours a week
- kbrannigan 3y agoWhy do we have to "grind" again? Why can't we show up, do oour job and go home to live life again? When did life become only about excessive work, sleep deprivation, and selling my soul to an employer again? Or was it always this way, instead of working for a Lord on a farm, now it's behind a screen.
- quantified 3y agoIf they want work-life balance, they should vote with their feet and move to someplace like Germany.
